Are you a dedicated Urologist seeking a new challenge in your career? Look no further! We're thrilled to announce an opening for a Locum Consultant Urology in the East Midlands, UK for a 11 month fixed term post

Applicants are invited to apply for the appointment of a full-time, 11-month fixed-term Urology Locum Consultant Surgeon based at Queens Hospital Burton. The Urology service covers the needs of a population of well over 1 million people.

Substantive 10PA: Job Plan components for this post may be subject to change ( with negotiation) but are currently ( for a full-time post holder) : DCC 7.75; SIFT 0.75; SPA 1.5

Will include dedicated outpatient clinics for benign and cancer patients at the base site and outreach sites, inpatient theatre sessions, and day case sessions. In addition, the job plan will include dedicated time for administration, supporting professional activities, ward rounds, and for emergency work.

  • Carry out more planned surgical operations than any other Trust in England with almost 50,000 operations taking place in our 52 operating theatres
  • One of only 5 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres
  • Carry out more than 300 elective procedures each working day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering a full range of outpatient and inpatient services at base sites and outreach clinics. The successful candidates will also provide emergency urology surgery as part of the relevant base site Consultant on-call rota.
  • We expect flexibility to be able to work across all sites of the Foundation Trust should the need arise.

Qualifications:

  • FRCS is essential
  • Previous UK experience is required
  • Full Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for re-registration
