This 8 Dr practice in the North region of Tasmania has been established since the 1970’s. It is a bulk billing practice with a patient base of 10,000.
- 67% of billings(65% for the first 3 months)
- Average earnings $320k AUD
- Housing and relocation assistance
Due to increased demand they require an additional 2 GP’s.
The practice operates 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 8pm on Fri and 10am to 1pm on a Saturday. The Saturday cover is on a rota and there is also 1 week in 8 rota for out of hours on call. Because of GP assist and a local hospital the call outs are minimal.
The role
GP’s will earn 67% of billings after 3 months after this (65% for the first 3). During this time you will also be entitled to a daily guarantee and at current, on average, Dr’s are billing $2000 a day. There is also relocation and housing assistance available.
Contracts of 2-4 years are offered depending on the GP’s preference.
You will be supported by a team of 3 nurses and 5 admin staff. The 8 Dr’s have a variety of specialisms including a Paediatrician, Gastroenterologist and a Vascular Surgeon.
The location
Tasmania's north is a feast of historic streetscapes and heritage estates, rich farmland, premier cool-climate wines and fresh produce.
The largest city in the region - and second largest in the state - is Launceston, a vibrant hub for food and wine, culture and nature.
The city is on the banks of the Tamar river and is the gateway to the Tamar valley, a region where English conservatism sits happily alongside the unconventional and off beat.
What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.
Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
