The role

A great opportunity for anyone who fancies trying out GP / A&E work in Australia but doesn't want to work in a rural location.  This job will give you the best of both worlds, work in a location close to a major city without losing your A&E skills.

You'll be doing a split role of GP and Acute Care, covering 4 x 10 hour shifts over the week, 2-3 of these shifts would be within the acute care unit.

Working here will allow you to live either in the fantastic state capital of Brisbane City or opt for a more laid back lifestyle by relocating to the wonderful Sunshine Coast, where you could start your day with a run on the beach or a surf!

This is a state of the art, predominantly bulk billing clinic which also provides a unique acute care service and receives patients from the QLD ambulance service through pre-existing triage systems and hospital programs. The GP Emergency Doctor position suits a GP who has previous experience and an interest in Emergency Medicine.

There is a well equipped emergency area including Acute Care Bays with full resuscitation and monitoring facilities (including invasive blood pressure monitoring) they have an Extensive range of emergency equipment and pharmaceuticals.  You’ll be supported by a team of emergency trained Registered Nurses.

The medical centre itself is a large multi-disciplinary clinic, currently with 7 GPs and more to be recruited, full team of nursing and administration staff, also on-site Radiology, Xray, Pathology, Pharmacy, Courtyard Café.

  • Minimum 12 month contract
  • 40 hours per week – 4 x 10 hour shifts
  • 65% billings

To be considered for this position you must have FRACGP / MRCGP ./MICGP or equivalent.

Located in a busy and popular residential area approximately 50 minutes drive north of Brisbane CBD.  The city is easily reached by freeway and the nearest beaches are just 20 minutes drive.

It's a cosmopolitan and lively city that is home to many different types of scenery, including skyscrapers, parkland and even an artificial beach.  Brisbane also gives easy access to a number of attractions as well as the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and dry, mild winters – perfect for enjoying the Queensland outdoors lifestyle.
