The role
You'll be working at the only medical clinic on this beautiful Pacific Island off the coast of Australia. The current GP is retiring and they need a replacement.
As well as working in the medical clinic you will also provide on call support to the Hospital and the Aged Care facility located in the hospital. You should have a current certificate in Emergency Medicine Management or willingness to successfully pass / undertake training in a similar qualification prior to commencing work. It is also preferred that you will have Anaesthetic experience. Ability to intubate and ventilate patients.
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9am - 1pm with a share of the oncall roster.
It's preferred that you will have FRACGP / MRCGP / MICGP or equivalent.
The location
This lush green Island is part of the Australian Commonwealth and currently has a population of just over 2000 people although this swells with tourists in the holiday season. 80% of the population are Australian and English is the main language.
There is 1 school on the island catering for pupils from kindergarten to year 12 and 1 airport on the island with flights to mainland Australia.
The climate is subtropical and mild with a temperature low of 10c and rarely rising above 24c.
