About the Role
The Gastroenterology service at Bay of Plenty provides specialist services to people living across the Bay of Plenty. The service provides ambulatory outpatient clinics at both Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals, along with participating in the delivery of endoscopy across both sites. In addition, an acute inpatient service is provided at Tauranga Hospital, alongside an after-hours acute endoscopy service.
The Gastroenterology team includes seven Specialists, advanced training registrar roles, nurse endoscopist and clinical nurse specialists. Bay of Plenty commenced participation in the National Bowel Screening in 2022 and is continuing to meet national wait time indicators.
About You
We are looking to recruit an Consultant with proficiency in the provision of Gastroenterology specialist care to join our service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery of both diagnostic and interventional procedures and enthusiasm to participate in the ongoing development of services for the people of Hauora a Toi. The role will participate in the delivery of education (undergraduate and postgraduate) and contribute to the supervision and development of advanced trainees (including nurse endoscopists).
