We are seeking Consultants in Emergency Medicine for the newly redeveloped Geraldton Health Campus in Western Australia.

The Role
An exciting opportunity is available for Emergency Medicine Consultants to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinicians providing comprehensive Emergency Medicine services. The ED is a busy regional department seeing around 40,000 presentations a year. There is a broad case mix including a significant number of high acuity and trauma presentations as well as receiving interhospital transfers from throughout the Midwest Region. Experience in rural emergency medicine, retrieval medicine, critical care, and regional referral centres will be highly regarded.
The blended medical model includes FACEMs, highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Practitioners, Registrars and Residents, underpinned by an active culture of teaching. In addition to being accredited for ACEM training, we also have placements for RACGP, ACRRM and CICM trainees, and our senior doctors each have a portfolio with dedicated non-clinical time to contribute to safe, high quality-care and enhancing the overall positive patient experience. Leadership and management training are promoted, and resources for education and supervision are well supported.
The Hospital
The facility is a 125 bed hospital following a recent redevelopment including a new emergency department that opened in August 2026, the new intensive care unit and high dependency unit, psychiatric intensive care unit and adult mental health inpatient unit. Other towns in the region have small hospitals with service provided by GPs in private practice.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM certified) or New Zealand.

Geraldton is situated in the Midwest Region of the State and is an attractive seaside community 260m (420km) North of the State's capital, Perth. It’s a 45 minute flight from Perth. There’s some beautiful sights along the way; pristine beaches, national parks and carpets of wildflowers.

The area is known for its sailing, kite, wind and wave surfing, and is home to some of the best diving sights along the WA coastline.
