The Role
The Emergency Medicine Consultant will provide a comprehensive clinical service in Emergency Medicine to patients of WA Country Health Service – South West and promote quality health outcomes for emergency medicine. Demonstrate leadership and role modelling.

The Bunbury Hospital ED receives and treats patients encompassing the full range of Emergency presentations. There are opportunities for career development with process design, teaching and improvements in patient transport. It is the main hospital in the South Western region and is the referral hospital for most of the smaller hospitals in the region. Complex cases which require specialist care, patients are transferred to the tertiary hospitals in Perth. Bunbury Emergency Department has approximately 37 beds over Resus, Acute, Mental Health, Paediatrics, fast track and short stay. Due to its location, Bunbury Hospital Emergency Department sees more complex cases and trauma than most metropolitan hospitals.

The Bunbury Hospital will be undergoing significant capital works, including an expected helipad, in the next few years to meet the increasing demand for high quality clinical services within the South West of Western Australia. Clinical services are expanding to meet increasing regional demand. 

Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM) or New Zealand.
