The Role
You will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care for patients with respiratory and sleep disorders across a range of clinical settings. This role offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, enhance service delivery, and improve patient outcomes for the Wide Bay community.

Specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of respiratory and sleep-related conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Clinical leadership, quality improvement, teaching, and research activities to support the development of services.

Providing expert advice to clinical teams and supporting the development of respiratory and sleep medicine services in the region.

Collaboration with private respiratory physicians and establishing new services, including a bronchoscopy service and a clinico-radiologic-pathology MDT for lung cancer.
Key Requirements:

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Respiratory Medicine, or
-
Equivalent overseas specialist qualification (CCT – UK, CSCST – Ireland, ABIM – USA, RCPSC – Canada, Vocational Registration – NZ)

Medical qualification and specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).

Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and engage in teaching and quality improvement activities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to foster a respectful, patient-centred environment and a commitment to cultural diversity in healthcare.
