This public mental health service provides quality psychiatric assessment and treatment services within a multidisciplinary team context.
You will treat and support patients with a range of psychiatric, behavioural and emotional issues in a range of settings.
Other responsibilities include acute assessment and treatment, clinical supervision of staff, ensuring that the service is patient focused, supporting the training and development of staff and contributing to improving quality and safety within the service itself.
The role provides two areas with which your experience can provide immediate value. They are dealing with complex clinical cases which have multi-agency involvement and ensuring team structures are in place, whilst providing first class leadership and maintaining contemporary models of care.
If you do not hold FRANZCP and are applying as a consultant psychiatrist who completed specialist training outside of Australia, you must have the following:
- Have completed specialist training in either NZ, Ireland, UK (CESR not favourable), Canada, USA or South Africa.
- Have had at least 2.5yrs experience as a Consultant/Specialist following completion of your training.
- Have completed a formal post in CAMHS during your basic or advanced training.
