A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Consultant Physician Medicine for the Elderly in the Scottish Borders on a 12 month contract - salaried basis. You will join a team of seven Consultants who cover both general and specialist areas of care of the elderly medicine. You will be responsible for the general care of the patients within the department, in addition to acting as a lead in the development and support of the specialist services .
This is an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance the existing service and also to play a significant part in the development of both integrated and specialist elderly care in this region.
This is a salaried post paying between £77,000 - £107,000.00 based on experience, the trust can also help with relocation costs as well as Visa sponsorship if required.
The post comprises 10 PAs per week, however applicants looking for part-time work are also welcomed. You will be expected to contribute to on call for general medicine, on an approximate 1:16 basis, and to take ongoing responsibility for some of the general medicine patients admitted under your care. 
The Scottish Borders is a fabulous location, with beautiful scenery and excellent access to a range of outdoor pursuits. You will be less than an hour from vibrant Edinburgh City Centre, via new train links and within easy reach of the Scottish Highlands for winter sports also.
