We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to work within the beautiful Scottish Highlands in Inverness and beyond to provide comprehensive care including outreach clinics in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This post offers 10 PA's on an 8:2 basis with additional EPA's available, following discussion.
The successful candidate will join the current nine Consultants, four Specialty Doctors, four Specialty Registrars and six FY2/GPST’s team within this busy hospital and outreach clinics. You will work as a co-operative, committed and capable member of the collegiate consultant team.
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology serves a wide population from Highland, Argyll and Bute and Grampian regions as well as the Western Isles. There are approximately 2,000 deliveries per year, and a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological services is provided.
This hospital has an Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and an Obstetric Day Unit. Specialist clinics include:
- An Early Pregnancy Assessment
- Joint diabetic antenatal clinic
- Maternal medicine
- Fetal medicine
- Fast-track gynaecology
- Colposcopy
- Infertility
- Out-patient hysteroscopy
Inverness is enviably situated in close proximity to stunning landscape and offers ready access to a range of leisure and sporting pursuits while boasting a natural environment with good quality affordable housing and excellent schools. It enjoys good road, rail and air links to both the north and south.
Applicants unable to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post part time and, if appointed, the job plan will be discussed on an individual basis. Applicants should be on or eligible for GMC registration. Salary will follow NHS pay scales and be between £80,653 - £107,170 dependent on experience.
