Are you a Consultant in Histopathology looking to live and work in the countryside of the UK?
A great opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Histopathology to join a small but punchy hospital group in a beautiful region of South West Scotland.
The Department provides a wide range of clinical diagnostic and advisory services supported by scientific facilities in three inter-related disciplines:
• Histopathology (approximately 11000 requests per year)
• Diagnostic Cytopathology (500 -1000 requests per year)
• Mortuary and Autopsy services (150 autopsies per year)
The hospital is accredited as a Cancer Unit for the diagnosis and management of common cancers including Skin, Head & Neck, Breast, Colorectal & upper Gastrointestinal, Respiratory, Urological, Haematological, Gynaecological malignancies.

Essential criteria
- Applicants must hold FRCPath in Histopathology
- Completed a period of training in Pathology that is recognised by the Royal College of Pathologists
- Eligible for, inclusion on the specialist register within six months of appointment.
Desirable Criteria
- RCPath (UK) Certificate in Higher Autopsy Training for Candidates who qualified recently
- Willingness to participate in medical administration / management activities
