Opportunity:
A great opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual within the specialty of Haematology to forge the future of the service at this trust and join the existing team of two consultants.
As a Consultant in Haematology, you'll:
- Provide a Consultant Haematology service for inpatient and outpatient services and for the proper functioning of the department.
- Continuous responsibility for laboratory quality assurance and compliance with hospital transfusion policies and development of such policies where necessary.
- Participate in the on-call rota on a 1 in 4 basis including laboratory supervision, clinical liaison and support to the busy clinical haematology service on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
- The post-holder will participate in the clinical management of Haemato-Oncology patients at the network multi-disciplinary meeting

Essential criteria
- MRCP
- FRCPath or equivalent qualifications
- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
Desirable Criteria
- Evidence of planning and completing audit.
- Experience in teaching.
- Experience in one or more other subspecialist areas
- Experience of management issues at departmental level
