Opportunity:

Delighted to share Head Medical are seeking a GMC specialist registered Consultant in Adult Psychiatry (Inpatients) to provide consultant-delivered services at an inpatient, male-only acute adult unit based in Hillingdon Hospital.

This post presents a wonderful opportunity and exposure to a wide range of clinical settings, and genuinely interesting and rewarding clinical practice for all clinicians looking to develop or wanting to share their expertise.

Fantastic role for a highly motivated individual looking to progress their career, to provide clinical and strategic leadership to the team,  supported by an active network of peer consultants.

As a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry (Inpatients), you'll:

  • Provide clinical care to Hillingdon patients admitted to Frays Ward, Riverside Centre.

  • Provide leadership for the performance and culture of the ward, ensuring best practice is employed across the facility, and that the Trust’s quality and productivity targets are met.

  • To participate in quality improvement and service evaluation projects and will be encouraged to undertake any research which may be relevant to either short or long-term service improvement.

Essential criteria

  • Primary Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date)
  • Section 12 MHA Approved 

Desirable criteria

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
  • MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
