Head Medical is seeking an experienced General Medicine Consultant to join a well-established Department of Medicine based at Bundaberg Hospital.

The Role
Bundaberg Hospital is a 158-bed acute facility offering comprehensive services including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, ICU/CCU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Renal, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, and Medical Imaging, supported by a broad specialist network.
You will work within a supportive, forward-thinking Department delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient care while contributing to clinical governance, teaching, and service improvement.
Duties Include:
- Delivering expert General Medicine care within an acute hospital setting
- Supervision and teaching of doctors in training, and students
- Participation in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
- Leadership within multidisciplinary teams
- Opportunities to contribute to research and service planning
- Scope to develop subspecialty interests (e.g. Respiratory, Gastroenterology – desirable but not essential)
Requirements:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent overseas specialist qualifications (e.g. CCT (UK), CSCST (Ireland), ABIM Board Certification (USA), RCPSC (Canada), or Vocational Registration in NZ)
- Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility
- Have experience working in an acute hospital environment
- Enjoy teaching, leadership, and collaborative team-based care
