Example remuneration:

  • Total remuneration up to AU$456k+ oncall , call back , overtime etc.  which includes
  • Car allowance up to AU$25,000.00 pa.
  • Professional development allowance AU$21,000.00, 3.6 weeks leave.
  • Recruitment & retention allowance 50% of base.
  • Regional allowance, 5% of base

The health service incorporates a regional town (where the hospital is) as well as surrounding rural areas where they deliver mental health care within the community. The service actively promotes patient directed recovery planning with the inclusion of families, carers and significant others whenever possible. The service specialises in community based treatment and is supported by a 12 bed mental inpatient and high dependency unit at the hospital. The multi-disciplinary team comprises of a mix of Psychiatrists, Doctors, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and other specialist positions.


The service works in partnership with a wide range of organisations, NGOs, indigenous welfare groups in order to provide comprehensive support to people experiencing mental illness and those affected by it.

You will be tasked with delivering first class care, quality management and clinical governance within a highly supportive team environment. Your style will be collaborative and you will enjoy liaising with stakeholders at all levels – both internal and external. You will enjoy the opportunity to undertake research and deliver teaching to both under-grads and post-grad clinical staff.  Your communication skills will be first class and you will be an advocate of patient engagement and systems improvement.
