The Role
Rockhampton Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Queensland and a major referral centre, offering:
- Comprehensive specialist services including emergency, surgery, oncology, renal, ICU, and more
- A growing Cardiology Department expanding facilities, technology, and inpatient capacity
- Exciting opportunities for clinical research, teaching, and service innovation
As a Consultant in Cardiology, you will:
- Lead and deliver non-invasive cardiology services such as echocardiography, cardiac CT, stress imaging, and heart failure management
- Play a pivotal role in developing a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory
- Manage a varied caseload—from complex coronary care to outreach clinics across the region, including Gladstone and Emerald hospitals
- Mentor junior doctors and registrars, contribute to research, and collaborate closely with the University of Queensland and Central Queensland University
- Work within a multidisciplinary environment committed to innovation and evidence-based care
