Specialist Anaesthetist/Intensive Care - St Helena, South Atlantic
6-month contract – flight departs UK on 30th November
Salary £85,000 per annum plus generous tax-free allowances
A short-term contract is available for an experienced Anaesthetist to work on the outstandingly beautiful island of St Helena, located in the South Atlantic Ocean. This post is to last 6 months, although duration is negotiable and you must be available to fly on the departing flight around 26th October from London.
Return travel costs will be covered and a rental allowance provided.
St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK, a sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500. The 30-bed General Hospital in the capital, Jamestown, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.
The anaesthetist will be on-call 24/7 for anaesthetics and intensive care patients but will also be a member of the general on-call rota to provide emergency out-of-hours care with back-up support from other medical professionals on island as required.
Current Medical Registration is required (please note on your application which country you currently hold medical registration in). Ideally you will be experienced at Consultant level, but a skilled Senior Registrar may also be considered.
