Clinical Nurse Specialist – Paediatric Mental Health | North West Regional Hospital

The Role

Head Medical seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Paediatric Mental Health to join a supportive multidisciplinary team at North West Regional Hospital, located in Tasmania’s stunning north-west.  You’ll work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, and other senior staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of paediatric mental health care. Your expertise will be key to delivering person-centred, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care that aligns with national mental health standards. The Paediatric Unit’s mental health services form part of Tasmania’s Department of Health, known for its inclusive, multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. You’ll be working in a modern environment with a strong focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and equity in access—particularly for the local Māori and Aboriginal communities.

Key details:

  • Permanent, full-time position (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Salary: $106,570 – $112,440 AUD + 12% superannuation
  • Additional Benefits: Salary packaging, meal/entertainment benefits

What You’ll Need

Essential:

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

Desirable:

  • Working towards or holding postgraduate qualifications in mental health or leadership
  • Previous experience in senior/leadership nursing roles
