About Sunderland GP Alliance
Sunderland GP Alliance is a collaboration of GP practices in Sunderland. All of the city’s 40 GP practices are members of the Alliance, and between them, they have over 250,000 patients.
Sunderland GP Alliance is a not for profit organisation owned by the city’s GPs and represents over
250,000 patients. We are a forward-thinking group of practices with a strong and supportive leadership team.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our innovative primary care team. You will be joining a large multidisciplinary team which has evolved in line with the growing needs of our population.
As well as the traditional model of GPs and practice nurses in primary care we have the added expertise of, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, Pharmacists, a Mental Health Practitioner, a Social Worker, a Safeguarding Lead and a dedicated GP Lead for care homes and community palliative care.
We also work closely with our PCN colleagues and benefit from the support of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nursing associates, a mental health practitioner and the social prescribing team.
We have a training practice with a GP registrar currently working with the team. We are involved with Newcastle and Sunderland University medical students. We have a strong ethos of teaching and training within the practice for all colleagues.
We believe that our approach to delivering primary health care is the approach of the future and is enabling us to deliver a service which is at a gold standard for our patients. We are truly able to deliver the right care, at the right time from the right clinician to our patient population.

We are recruiting
We are recruiting for our New Silksworth Practice. This is a recognised training practice with 3 GPs, Mental Health Practitioner, Advanced Paramedic and a team of ANPs and support staff including a social worker.
Ideally, we seek a GP to cover a minimum of 6 clinical sessions per week, we offer 15-minute appointments and encourage our team to explore and expand on their chosen areas of special interest. If you would like to do 9 sessions per week (8 clinical + 1 CPD), the practice can accommodate this.
We are registered to sponsor those who require a work permit and invite invitations from experienced family doctors who want to be part of our ground breaking team.
