Head Medical is now able to recruit Operating Department Practitioners (ODP) and specialist nursing staff on a locum basis for the first time – which will result in a 40% increase in turnover over the next three years.
We launched our UK division less than three years ago with experienced recruiter Jo Hood at the helm, and announced plans for a new theatre division last year following the strategic hire of Katie Campbell. We've now been granted a Certificate of Registration from the Care Inspectorate meaning we can place both theatre practitioners and ODPs in roles across Scotland.
With the accreditation now in place, our team has expanded to include Kelly McPherson, a recruitment consultant, and Carol Beveridge, a registered nurse – both have solid experience in recruiting for specialist nursing roles. The team will place skill at the centre of all recruitment, ensuring clients and candidates are well-matched by focussing on relationship development and employment requirements.
Jim Godsal, managing director at Head Medical, commented:
“Our move into recruitment of theatre specialists marks a significant shift for the business and is one that we are really excited about. We have been working with the Care Inspectorate for about six months and are committed to ensuring we treat the placement of ODPs in the same personal way that we would when finding a position for a doctor.
“The experience that our team brings to the table allows us to know what candidates and employers want and need from roles. Our specialist team will be mindful of this and will be clear from the outset regarding what skills will be best suited to the roles as they arise.”
