With the first Physicians due to start work at the pioneering facility in the upcoming months, Sidra Medical and Research Centre have announced two significant new appointments to its expanding senior management team.
Dr Julio Silva joins the innovative medical and research centre for women and children as its Division Chief of Health Informatics and Timothy B. McDonald, MD, JD has been appointed Service Chief for Anaesthesiology.
Both Physicians come to Sidra from hospitals in the USA and are highly qualified and experienced in their fields, combining clinical expertise with strong track records in leadership, research and education. Dr McDonald will also assume the role of Medical Director of Quality and Safety at Sidra, as well as take up the position of Chair of Anaesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
Dr Silva and Dr McDonald join a growing list of medical experts who have been recruited to help Sidra Medical and Research Centre become a world leader in patient-focused clinical services for women and children.

30/01/13 – Sidra expand senior team with Chief Research Officer (Dr Francesco Marincola), Clinical Chief of Surgery (Dr David Lyle Sigalet) and Chief Information Officer (Michael Leroy)
The hospital still has a requirement for highly experienced Paediatric and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultants with an active interest in teaching and/or research who have undertaken, and completed, their higher specialist training in Western Europe, USA, Canada, or Australasia.
