This month we celebrate our 5th birthday, and would like to say a huge thank you to all clients and Doctors we’ve worked with during this time; We feel we’ve a lot to celebrate and we hope you’ve enjoyed working with us, as much as we’ve enjoyed working with you. Here are some of our highlights:
2008: We saw a niche for a quality supplier, who understood the Australasian medical recruitment market, to provide international recruitment services to clients down under from a UK base, close to the candidate pool that many sought to attract. And in September 2009 Head Medical began trading.
2009: As business was looking good, we had to quickly build a talented team; Sharon was the first to join Anna in January focussing on SHO and Registrars, followed by Gemma to do immigration and registration, Nicky and Emma to work on GP recruitment and then Jen to join Gemma. In April our first candidate (an O&G Consultant) started work in Bay of Plenty, NZ. And by year end we had helped a total of 40 Doctors move to Australia and NZ and were delighted to be in business!
2010: Gemma became a Licensed NZ Immigration Adviser; We won the 'Best Place to Work' award from Radio Forth - as voted by our people and the 'Best Medium Sized Scottish Recruitment agency' – big celebrations. Gemma and Anna also did a fabulous New Zealand road trip , to visit clients. Jonathan came on board in summer 2010 and as we were growing, we had to put processes in place and were both ISO 9001 and Investors in People accredited.
2011: Annie joined the team alongside Laura, Caroline, Claire and Chloe. Building on success in Australasia, we began to also focus on the Gulf Region and started recruiting for Sidra Medical & Research Centre, a new women's and children’s hospital project in Qatar. We also placed some Doctors in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan (who knew?!). At year end we moved into a beautiful Georgian Town House in Edinburgh, giving us the much needed space to further grow our team.
2012: We invested in new technology to help us engage with candidates, we also rebranded and launched a new website; Our first Doctors started work in the Gulf and of course we continued placing lots of Doctors in ANZ, winning a contract providing GPs to Rural Health Workforce Australia. With Nicky coming on board, we also started a UK Division. The team grew significantly in 2012, as we also welcomed Yan, Carol H, Carol M and Jim. And lastly, as we pride ourselves on retaining the best professional team, we were delighted to achieve Investors in People Bronze Accreditation.
2013: We kicked off the year attending Arab Health in Dubai which was closely followed by a three week trip to visit clients in Australia and we continued to spread out further geographically, recruiting Doctors for clients in the Caribbean, Africa and Singapore. Our 300th permanent Doctor started work in July and Claire became an IAA NZ Licensed Immigration Adviser. Sophie joined the busy Registration team and Nic (who worked with us in the past) came back to join us on a part-time basis. We are also excited to be shortlisted twice in the Recruitment Business Awards (Best Specialist/Niche Agency and Best Website), so wish us luck for October.
We’ve much to look forward to as we continue to grow and expand, whilst maintaining true to the original idea of providing clients and Doctors with a straight talking, professional and expert international medical recruitment service.
