Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year 2022 is a huge annual event and will be enjoyed across the world by over 2 Billion people. The festival is the biggest celebration in the Chinese calendar and usually lasts for 15 days. This year will welcome the year of the water tiger and the new year falls on the 1st of February which aligns with the new moon.

It is widely believed that this festival has been celebrated for over 3500 years and is rooted deeply in China’s rich cultural history. The festival is also known as the ‘Spring Festival’ and “Lunar New Year” and although China adopted the Western calendar back in 1912, this special event is still celebrated with the traditional greeting, "Kung Hei fat Choi."

Families enjoy this time together, playing traditional games, enjoying fireworks and it is also marked by the exchange of gifts, hanging red lanterns and wearing special clothes. It is also believed to be significant to ensure good fortune in the year ahead. Here at Head medical, we wish all of our clients and candidates a very Happy Chinese New year!
