2018 is BIG year for us at Head Medical.

Not only are we following our biggest year to date, growing our team, expanding our geographical reach, and investing in our people as well as new technologies, but this is also the year of two important milestones.

This year we’ll be celebrating our 1,000th doctor starting in a permanent job, which neatly coincides with our 10th birthday. It’s nearly 10 years since we were one person sitting at a desk in Head Resourcing’s office – now there are 28 of us along with the shared services we enjoy as part of the Taranata Group.

During the last decade we’ve placed doctors in Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Vietnam, the Maldives, Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Zambia, St Helena, Gibraltar, Guernsey, the Falklands, Turks and Caicos, the Cayman Islands and Canada (and I might even be forgetting some!).

It’s quite a journey we’ve been on and we’re keen to mark these milestones in style. There will, of course, be a party, but more importantly we want to commemorate 1,000 doctors and 10 years by raising £10,000 for charity. I’m delighted to say we’ve selected CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) as the beneficiary of our fundraising activities, a local charity that has provided amazing services to many families at the toughest possible times.

There will be a variety of activities and events that the Head Medical team will take part in to raise the £10,000, from physical feats including a marathon and the Ring of Steall, to a charity ball, bake sales, chocolate boxes and maybe just shaking a tin in front of anyone who happens to walk down Alva Street.

We’ll be sharing all the details in the coming weeks, but we’ve certainly got a varied, exciting and challenging year ahead of us. I hope you’ll enjoy hearing all about it or even being a part of our fund-raising celebrations!
