Background: I was born and raised in Edinburgh, and have a degree in Drama Studies from the RSAMD in Glasgow. After a couple of years touring the UK with theatre in education, I started working in Healthcare Recruitment in 2003. I specialised in recruiting Operating Theatre staff in 2005. I now have over 14 years of healthcare experience and am very happy to be part of the GP Team at Head Medical.
I am married to Ian and have two children, Rory and Isla.
Loves: Telling a good story! I have been a ghost tour guide for City of the Dead tours in Edinburgh for fifteen years. I also love family holidays, reading, cycling, and swimming.
Dream Destinations: New Zealand and Canada.
Inspired By: My friends and family. I am lucky to have a great support network, and they encourage to me believe that anything is possible.
Claim to Fame: I was used in a promotional campaign for a play called ‘The Steamie’ – my face was all over social media, posters and bus stops. It was my one and only modelling job.
Special Talent: I can sneeze on cue.
Hates: Irritating noises, bad grammar, and bullying.
Favourite Song: “Caledonia” by Dougie Mclean.
Never Seen Without: A smile (well, rarely!). I always try to be a very positive person.
Favourite Word / Phrase: “There’s no such thing as bad weather in Scotland, only the wrong clothes” – Billy Connolly
Proudest Moments: Becoming a Mum and an Auntie, and watching my own Mum running with the Commonwealth Games torch on her 70th birthday.
Happiest Memory: Enjoying a family bike ride beside Loch Morlich with Ian, Rory and Isla. I remember thinking “Life doesn’t get much better than this!”
