The Location

Rockhampton is known as the “beef capital of Australia” – a nod to the cattle industry, which plays an important part in the local and national economy. The town’s colonial history can be seen in its palm tree-lined streets and grand old heritage buildings, which hark back to its Gold Rush days – some of which have been lovingly restored to give the city a real ‘aussie’ charm, creating a real sense of community.

The region offers a superb lifestyle and a healthy family environment with a range of cultural, recreational and sporting activities. Real estate prices are affordable with a choice of town, coast or country living. Stroll along the river, drive out to the coast exploring the many beaches, discover Carnarvon National Park, or spend time enjoying the galleries and botanic gardens - the lifestyle is peaceful and serene here. You will have access to water sports, the best steak Queensland has to offer, and of course, the Great Barrier Reef for some fabulous deep sea diving.

Brisbane is just a short 1 hour flight from Rockhampton’s local airport.

What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
