The position will suit a Consultant Psychiatrist who has passion, drive, energy and resilience. You will be excited at the prospect of working in an iconic part of outback Western Australia, delivering essential services to a diverse population, whilst enjoying the benefits of community living.
The work and the region offers some exciting professional challenges. Statistics show a higher then State average of mental health issues for both genders with community health stakeholder relationships needing to be fostered and developed.The service has an inpatient unit as well as community services for all ages.
This position requires the following skills:
- Leadership.
- Strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of OR the ability to quickly grasp Australian national policy and procedural standards.
- Substantial experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment ensuring best practise clinical interventions.
- Ability to develop relationships with critical stakeholders - especially GPs - to promote consistent levels of treatment, management of shared care and educating re developments in psychiatric care or disorders.
- Capacity to travel by car and plane on a regular basis.
You will be an experienced consultant psychiatrist who has ideally had management experience at a senior clinical level. You will enjoy supervising staff-in-training and communicating your knowledge and enthusiasm to a committed group of carers and medical professionals. You will hold Fellowship of RANZCP.
