GP required for a practice based in Palmerston North, North Island of New Zealand

The Role
This vacancy offers flexible hours with part time or full time hours available. Participation in evening & weekend will be required and is staffed on a roster system with all local doctors. The roster will see the GP working on average of 2-3 shifts per month
Alongside the General Practice and Accident & Medical Centre, the centre offers a wide range of services to the community.
The Practice
The practice is within a purpose built building near the city centre and within a 5minute drive of the hospital. It has 7 consult rooms, 2 treatment rooms and a large nursing and support staff. The practice is also supported by on-site radiology, pharmacy, physiotherapy, X-ray, laboratory & blood test facilities.
The practice is open 365 days a year 8am -10pm with an afterhour’s service from 6pm -10pm weekdays & 8am -10pm weekends & public holidays
Location
Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields and river adventures. Only 90 minutes scenic drive from Wellington or 2 hours from Taupo makes Palmerston North a great base to explore the North Island from.
Expect to spend a lot of time outside, because the area’s geography has inspired an exciting choice of mild, medium and wild adventures. Rafting, kayaking, horse trekking, mountain biking and rock climbing are just some of the things you can do.
Palmerston North, which is New Zealand’s 5th largest city, is home to a thriving musical scene with many national and international acts touring through the town; as well as there being many local acts performing regularly. There are also theatres and a thriving wine industry.
