The Location
Nicknamed the “Garden City”, Toowoomba (population 125,000) is a picturesque modern city located on the rim of the Great Dividing Range. The region enjoys a temperate mountain climate of four distinct seasons, including glorious summers, without oppressive conditions, and cool winters.
Toowoomba is the largest inland settlement in Queensland, and the economic centre of the Darling Downs region. It is a modern city, known for its beautiful parks and gardens, good shopping, cultural and sporting facilities, as well as excellent public and private schools, and universities (Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE, University of Queensland and Southern Queensland University). While it provides all the benefits of a major city being strategically situated close to Brisbane (90 minute drive) and the Gold Coast (2 hour drive), it also offers a relaxed country lifestyle and pace of life that harks back to its colonial settlement roots.
Imagine sampling some great local produce over coffee in one of the many stylish cafes, exploring the beautiful parks and stunning surrounding landscape with the kids, and breathing in the clean fresh air…
