The Opportunity
The successful Vascular Surgeon will:

  • Provide comprehensive surgical services across a wide range of pathologies and patient age within the Department of Vascular Surgery
  • Work within the team charter of Vascular Surgery to build a collegiate team and happy workplace
  • Manage the delivery of patient care in the area of Vascular Surgery including management of complex clinical situations.
  • Provide support to the Director Vascular Surgery in managing the medical workforce within the Vascular Surgery Department ensuring that annual leave, rosters, sick leave etc. is appropriately managed across the team(s).
  • Lead education, research and training activities across your team(s), ensuring that these activities occur within the specialty and that staff are supported.
  • Assist the Director Vascular Surgery in the management of clinical governance and patient safety within the Vascular Surgery Department ensuring that all incidents, complaints and patient safety activities are actioned and that learning’s from previous incidents is shared widely.

Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABS certified) or New Zealand.

  • 5 years Consultant/Specialist level work experience.
  • Highly desirable - special interest in renal transplant.
