You will be responsible for the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and quality gastroenterology service within the Toowoomba Hospital and Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service.
The key areas of responsibility include running an Endoscopy Service, general Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics, an ongoing commitment to General Medicine, teaching and mentoring as well as undertaking Clinical Research activities.
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service, of which Toowoomba Hospital is the major hospital with over 320 beds, provides a comprehensive range of high-quality acute, sub-acute, mental health, drug and alcohol, oral health, residential aged care, and community health services. They deliver clinical services to a regional population of approximately 300,000, which continues to grow. Spanning 90,000 square kilometres, the catchment area includes both large and small rural community settings and the Hospital is the major regional centre providing a comprehensive range of specialist consultative services to all these surrounding districts.
