Attractive remuneration package. Base salary of AUD$309,898 -$426,114 (dependent upon years of service). Allowances will be offered in addition to the base salary. The Role and Hospital
As a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing a professional clinical anaesthetic service to hospital patients, along with actively contributing to continuous quality improvement in the interests of effective and efficient patient care. Considerable clinical anaesthetic experience essential. Intensive Care experience desirable.
Mildura Base Hospital (MBH) is a modern 165 bed (level 1) Tertiary teaching Hospital. The Hospital is managed by Ramsay Health Care in a contractual arrangement with the Victorian Government. MBH provides public hospital services on behalf of the Victorian Government to the Community of Mildura and the Sunraysia District.
Surgical procedures performed annually at Mildura Base include ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology. Mildura Base Hospital also has a state of the art Intensive Care Unit opened in November 2018 with 8 ICU/HDU beds.
Mildura is in north-west Victoria and is set on the banks of the magnificent Murray River, and has a population of around 60,000. Within an hour flying time to Melbourne and Adelaide, Mildura has the perfect Mediterranean climate, with a high number of warm sunny days perfect for visiting the many cafes and restaurants or relaxing by the Murray River. Mildura has great shopping precincts and markets, excellent sporting and cultural facilities, hosts numerous festivals and has many high performing public and private schools
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
