Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology - Dumfries & Galloway
A new and exciting opportunity has come up to work as a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Dumfries & Galloway. If you would like to join a hospital where you will be part of a very well supported department, with access to senior members and regular departmental meetings to ensure all runs smoothly, then this will be the place for you.
The successful candidate will work in a 347-bed district general in the town of Dumfries and serve a scattered population of approximately 148,500. You will join an enthusiastic team of five consultants, associate specialist, teaching fellow, two speciality doctors and three trainees, who provide a range of specialist services and excellent educations opportunities in a beautiful area of South West Scotland. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop special skills, be involved in specialist services and take an active part in service review and implementation of service development.
The hospitals location is outstandingly beautiful, with the landscape as a key feature in the design of the hospital completed in 2017. Dumfries is well located for access to Scottish cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh and is just a short drive from Carlisle in the north of England. Housing costs remain affordable, with excellent schools and low crime rates.
This job is full time however we are open to hearing from those unable to work full time. Salary will follow NHS pay scales. Applicant must be GMC registered with a licence to practice or eligible to register with at least two years middle grade obstetric and gynaecology experience. MRCOG part 1, or equivalent, is required with MRCOG part two, or equivalent, is preferred.
