A fantastic opportunity is available for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine to join the Emergency Medical team in the new state of the art District General Hospital in Dumfries & Galloway.
The successful candidate will be based in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, which is the principal Emergency Department in the South-West of Scotland providing Emergency services to Dumfries and the surrounding catchment area with a population of approximately 148,500 people. The role will involve dealing with a full range of emergency care.
You will work as part of a consultant led multidisciplinary team comprising of, doctors in training, Nurse Practitioners and GPs with an interest in Emergency Medicine. The hospital is a designated Trauma Unit and has most core specialities on site. In particular there is immediate access to the full support of acute receiving teams in the event of paediatric, medical or surgical emergencies.
As well as providing quality patient care you will be offered training and time for supporting professional activities. The post will provide the successful clinician with the training opportunities and support required to develop Emergency Medicine competencies. The aim would be to work towards completion of all aspects of the CESR process for motivated individuals.
Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary have an excellent active and forward-thinking educational department and have been rated best in Board in Scotland for training in 2016 GMC survey and are rated in the top ten Boards in the UK for Foundation training two years running.

This job is full time however we are open to hearing from those unable to work full time. Salary will follow NHS pay scales. Applicant must be GMC registered with a licence to practice or eligible.
