GP with Emergency Medicine Experience and a sense of adventure required!

How does one year on the Sub-Tropical island of St Helena sound?

Working with the other medical officers, you will run out-patient clinics covering a wide range of practice including diabetes, hypertension, cardio-pulmonary disease, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology etc. You will also be required to take care of in-patients as well as being primary on-call approximately every fourth night supporting the nursing staff in the triage and attending possible emergencies. You will be supported by specialist colleagues in anaesthetics, surgery, orthopedics and obstetrics/gynaecology as well as two other medical officers.

Interested General Practitioners are encouraged to apply particularly GPs with special interest in hospital care, emergency medicine or chronic disease management.

This role is also suitable for an Emergency Physician or Internal Medicine Specialist. Suitable candidates would already be Consultants or Registrars nearing completion of training to become consultants. A minimum of 5-years’ post qualification experience is essential with full GMC registration or equivalent, good standing with the relevant registering authority and a very good command of the English language.
