An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine for a regional teaching hospital in tropical Rockhampton.

The 305-bed hospital provides services to a regional population of 250,000 and supports smaller satellite hospitals within its catchment area.
It is the main referral hospital for central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment.
Joining a dedicated and passionate team of medical, nursing, social work and allied health staff, you will have experience as a specialist in Palliative Care Medicine and a commitment to providing a high quality service, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a collaborative team approach. You will have a sound understanding of contemporary models of care; an interest in medical education and teaching, including providing supervision and education to medical students and other clinical staff; and a commitment and willingness to be involved in continuous quality improvement programmes.
This is an interesting and varied position, and one that is professionally rewarding with a committed team who also take a keen interest in developing their own people through further education, peer support and dynamic leadership.
You will hold FAChPM-RACP or equivalent, and be registered (or eligible for registration, having been deemed "substantially comparable" by RACP as a minimum), with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in Palliative Medicine.
