Indigenous health issues are complex and unique making the medicine very interesting.
The service is looking for a medical specialist qualified to fulfil a Respiratory and General Medicine position - formally split 50/50 but could be negotiated.
The Respiratory unit is made up of a really committed, collaborative and enthusiastic group of staff. It is ably supported by the other ICU, medical and surgical units. The Respiratory element requires you to conduct clinics, consultations, visit remote indigenous communities for outreach clinics, bronchoscopies and lung function tests.
Both the Respiratory and Gen Med components require to teach and mentor all levels of medical staff.
Ideally, you will hold FRACP or you will have been assessed by RACP to be suitable to work in Respiratory Medicine.
