Head Medical are pleased to be working with a private facility in Guernsey to assist in the recruitment of a registered nurses in Acute Medicine. 

The private medical unit consists of two wards – Carey and Brock. The wards have a high observation unit and provide care for people with a variety of medical conditions, whilst using a multidisciplinary approach to care. Within the States of Guernsey they offer integrated health and social care to the people of Guernsey and Alderney.

The medical wards at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital provide care for a variety of medical conditions – such as endocrine, cardiac, pulmonary, renal, haematological and malignant conditions. The unit has a total of 48 beds, with care provided by a multidisciplinary team. Under Guernsey’s healthcare system, there are no junior doctors and patient care is managed by the nine consultant physicians attached to the medical unit. This environment provides an excellent grounding for nurses committed to high-quality care that are embarking /developing their careers. All new staff are mentored through an induction preceptorship period; whilst ongoing personal development and education are actively encouraged.


Guernsey is a small island of just 25 square miles located off the south coast of England.  There are beautiful beaches and picturesque walking paths around the coast offering views of the cliffs and countryside.  If you are keen on more active activities you can indulge in surfing, kayaking and bike riding.  One thing you will notice in Guernsey is the fantastic work life balance as it will mean the end of the commute to work which means you can spend more time doing the things you love.

Job requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Current first level registration with the NMC.
  • Experience co-ordinating ward activities and delegating appropriate is desirable.
