Full time position (0.5 FTE research + 0.5 Clinical)

The employer`s primary hospital is an 800 bed teaching hospital providing medical and surgical care to a diverse and rapidly growing population of approximately 600,000 people. The Haematology department provides diagnosis, specialist consultation and clinical management for patients with the full range of haematological disorders. The department has an in-patient ward, chemotherapy day ward, outpatient clinics, thrombosis service and haematology laboratory and blood bank services all located on-site, and runs an active clinical research programme in conjunction with Middlemore Clinical Trials.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Haematologist to join our existing team of 6 haematologists.
You’ll be part of our established team and supported by a professional team of nursing, allied health and scientific staff.
Applicants should ideally be Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians of Australasia or equivalent, and eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Although experience in clinical haematology and research is preferred, recently qualified graduates will be considered.
Please note that the 0.5FTE research position is a fixed term for 12 months, and the 2 components of this role could be separated for suitable applicants. The research fellow position is primarily to undertake dedicated clinical trial research, and promote all aspects of clinical research within the department.
