Radiographer (Sonographer specialisation) - St Helena, South Atlantic

2-year contract

Enjoying unique lifestyle opportunities, St Helena Island is a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. The 28-bed General Hospital in the capital, Jamestown, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.

The radiography section has multiple imaging modalities including CT, fluoroscopy and ultrasound, with two full-time Radiographers and a part-time Assistant Practitioner; you would be the only Sonographer. You will of course seek distant telemedicine advice when appropriate.

Much of your time will be devoted to teaching and professional development of nurses and students, producing and updating protocols and guidelines and participating in clinical and staff meetings. You will share on-call cover arrangements for out-of-hours emergencies and offer radiographic support to the dental section when required.

You must be a State Registered Radiographer with a current registration certificate and hold either a Diploma from the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, plus post-graduate qualification in ultrasound and general radiography including CT.
