The Role
The gynaecological, breast pathology and cytology services have six pathologists responsible for providing a comprehensive clinical service comprising gynaecological and breast surgical pathology, frozen section cover, cytology and multidisciplinary meetings. The role of the successful candidate can be primarily clinical with a component of education or research responsibilities in accordance to the candidate’s preferences and aptitude. However, an academically-inclined candidate with a strong track record of research achievements in the fields of gynaecological or breast pathology as evidenced by outstanding peer-reviewed publications in top-tier scientific journals and a significant record of success in obtaining competitive research grants, and who is committed to furthering his/her research career, will receive prioritised consideration for this position.

The department has modern and efficient facilities including a large repertoire of immunohistochemical stains and integrated molecular diagnostics. The department receives the largest and most extensive case-mix of gynaecological specimens in Singapore

Please note that the career path for a specialist in Singapore follows Associate consultant, Consultant and Senior consultant. We are supporting with hiring of specialists at Associate consultant, consultant and Senior consultant level for this department.

Who are we looking for?
The hospital is ideally looking for a specialist with one or more of the below:

  • Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Specialist Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland
  • Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia

Singapore’s population is highly diverse; with a patient flow of Chinese, Malay, Indian and westerners as regular clientele, cultural appreciation is required.
