Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar role in the stunning sub-tropical coastal region of Queensland, Australia.

This is an opportunity for PGY2+ O&G Registrar/SHO interested in taking a year to specialise in Australia, before returning home to complete their training.

The Roles 

This is a 12 month contract at Principle House Office/Registrar level where you will work in collaboration with the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff to ensure that Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.  

The Requirements

  • PGY2 +
  • MBBS or equivalent to enable current registration or eligibility for registration with (AHPRA) is mandatory
  • Must have completed at least 1 O&G rotation

The Location

This role offers tropical living in the heart of the Queensland coast where you can get back to nature in this outdoor wonderland and the centre of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.  Whether it’s the laid back beach community that appeals or the range of outdoor sporting activities on offer – this area gives you the ideal escape from a hectic day at the hospital!

The Hospital


Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland and also the main referral birthing Centre for the region having a 16 bed Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit. The hospital also provides integrated cancer care services for Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment.   Specialist Medical Services offered at the Rockhampton Hospital include Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland.
