We have an opportunity within O&G located in Invercargill – nestled in the heart of New Zealand’s  South Island.   Experience a different healthcare system,  broaden your clinical skills and experience and enjoy working in a friendly and supportive team environment.  This position is suited to SHO's and Core Trainee's.

Hospital

Southland Hospital is a state of the art 181 bed teaching hospital.   It is the regional referral, teaching and trauma centre for a population of 105,000 and a rural catchment area that stretches from Stewart Island to Te Anau and Queenstown. Southland Hospital is a modern secondary level facility, with first class clinical support facilities and excellent links to the tertiary centre in Dunedin.   

There are approximately 1400 births per year at Southland Hospital and a further 200 in the rural areas. The department consists of a 14 room maternity unit with 4 birthing rooms, a level two 5 cot neonatal unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit. The service is supported by a team of experienced midwives, obstetrics, gynaecology and colposcopy nurses.
