The Service
The W P Holman Clinic provides specialist cancer services, including comprehensive radiation oncology, medical oncology and clinical haematology services, as well as providing a supportive role for cancer research for the Northern Tasmanian region. And because it is housed in Launceston General Hospital complex, there is easy and direct access to all other hospital services that may be required.
Medical Oncology and clinical haematology services include diagnosis, medical treatment and follow-up to patients with cancer or a haematological diagnosis. Chemotherapy, blood product support, monoclonal antibody infusions, plasmapheresis and haematological procedures are delivered.
The Hospital
One of four acute hospitals in Tasmania, this 300 bed Hospital is the major referral hospital for the residents of the North and North West of Tasmania, treating over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients annually. In addition, there is a strong emphasis on medical education and due to its accredited teaching hospital status, the hospital also enjoys close links with both the University of Tasmania, as well as the School of Nursing, which is also based here.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
The Location
