We are delighted to be working with Western Health, one of the largest providers of maternity services in Australia.
Our client is looking to appoint an & experienced and enthusiastic Maternal Fetal specialist who has experience with very high risk pregancy.
The $200 million Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital, on the Sunshine Hospital site, opened in May 2019 to meet the demand for world-class maternity and paediatric services in Melbourne’s west.
Named after Victoria’s first female premier, the new hospital allows more women to give birth locally. It gives families better access to vital children’s services – closer to home.
The hospital has nine floors and during construction, enough concrete was used to fill nearly four Olympic size swimming pools. It has 20 maternity delivery rooms, 237 beds, 39 special care nursery cots, four theatres and additional clinics.
The hospital also has the western suburbs’ first ever neonatal intensive care unit to care for the most critically ill babies.

The Location
Boutique shopping, multiculturalism, and a thriving foodie scene define St Albans, a suburb approx. 30 minutes North West of Melbourne, Victoria. St Albans is regarded as a great suburb to live offering good infrastructure, multi cultured people, excellent schools and all within 25-30 minutes drive to Melbourne's CBD. However, many choose to live in other Melbourne suburbs and travel in for work purposes. St Albans offers warm summers and cooler winters and fantastic access to stunning beaches, along the coastline of Victoria.
How Head Medical can help
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.
