Are you a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon looking for a short term contact or sabbatical opportunity? I am working on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Candidates with experience in general orthopaedic and orthopaedic trauma are preferred. There will be an on-call component within the position.
The Orthopaedic Unit operates with 54 adult beds across 2 wards, plus paediatric beds in a paediatric ward. Currently 14 surgeons are employed and this position is in addition to the current complement of surgeons. They cover all subspecialties with the exception of paediatric spinal surgery.
You will be based in a large Tertiary Referral Centre located South of Auckland City. Situated on the banks of New Zealand’s longest river, it is New Zealand’s 4th largest city, and it’s rich cultural mix and vibrant centre makes it a perfect place to experience the friendly Kiwi lifestyle. away and both the West Coast and East Coast beaches are within easy reach, meaning endless recreational possibilities
- Due to the short term nature of the role and the requirement to work as a specialist, this position requires you to be eligible to register via Locum Tenens with Medical Council of New Zealand, meaning you should hold FRACS (or equivalent, e.g. FRACS with CCT). In addition, you must be willing to commence this year;
