3 Practice Nurses and allied health services like vascular ultrasound, dietitian and podiatrist are available on site. Allied health facilities like vascular ultrasound, dietitian and podiatrist are also on site. Pathology is open 6 days a week on site. High quality schools are available within a 15 minute drive.
The Practice Manager, a GP and Practice Nurse are there to provide orientation before the GP commences work. They have ample experience of doing this as they have previously engaged 5 GPs from the UK.
The location
The surgery is a minute stroll from Lake Macquarie in the picturesque holiday town of Toronto-26 Km from Newcastle CBD in NSW. Newcastle is a regional city about two hours drive north of Sydney. It is also a busy port exporting produce from the nearby Hunter Valley and north west NSW. Despite the industrial side to the city, there are some great surfing beaches nearby and some attractive buildings around the city itself.
There are plenty of shopping complexes, several museums as well as an art gallery, which are worth visiting and lots of other things to do. Nearby there are also a number of nature reserves which are very beautiful offering bushwalking and the chance to see a variety of wildlife. Stockton Beach runs along the coast to Port Stephens and is backed by the wonderful and beautiful sand dunes.
Newcastle has a lively entertainment scene and plenty of good restaurants. Good transport links to Sydney, an airport and good educational facilities make Newcastle a very good option to live, work and play in.
