Consultant Radiologist - Interventional Subspecialty

Dunedin

Permanent, Full time

About our Service

Working here might be different from where you’ve just come from, but we bet you’ll love it! This is a fulfilling role, rewarding team and great location to be based.  Currently we have a team of 10 consisting of general radiologists and four other interventional radiologists. We are a relaxed and rather informal team, regularly enjoying a good laugh when appropriate, and everyone is on a first name basis.  We work as a strong MDT within our radiology service, and always have the welfare of our patients and their families at the core of our work. Due to our size and close collegial relationships throughout the hospital, it is quite normal to go and find the person to get the answer rather than send an email, and you will often find you get feedback regarding the progress of your patients after they’ve left your care, which certainly doesn’t happen in a larger hospital

EVAR/TEVAR procedures are also performed and there would be the opportunity to be involved with these if desired. Ideally you would be able to contribute to our general radiology component and general out of hours roster.

You would be expected to support and participate in radiology service and quality initiatives as part of your role. As we are a flexible department, we are willing and able to make the most of your skills and are happy to support your special interest.   As a team who prides ourselves in the work we do, and the care provided to our patients, quality is at the centre of our service and there is an expectation that you will participate in quality initiatives as part of your role.  You will participate in an out of hours on call roster shared equally amongst your Radiologist colleagues.

About You
Ideally with a subspecialty in interventional radiology, and be able to take part in the vascular interventional daytime and on-call roster, there is an option to undertake general call as well.

As an outstanding team player, you'll have the energy and drive to make a positive difference with both patients and colleagues alike. You’ll also be enthusiastic about teaching and passing on their knowledge to junior members of staff. In addition to enjoying a challenging and varied workload, you can look forward to a competitive pay rate and a culture where staff are included, valued and respected for their expertise.

You must have FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ. Candidates from outside of NZ are encouraged to apply and our experienced Recruitment Advisors are happy to answer your questions about coming to live and work in our region.
