The Role

We’re recruiting an experienced GP to join a modern practice based in one of Tasmania’s most popular destinations. The clinic is a purpose built centre which is well equipped and has a state of the art treatment room, equipped with all the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

There are currently four full time GPs, full time nursing support, a practice manager and reception staff – all of whom are committed to providing quality care to their patients. They have a well-equipped treatment room and onsite nurses, who also assist in minor procedures, immunisations, and wound management.

Appointments are booked at 10-15 minute intervals and the centre is open as follows:

Monday – Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm

Some of the specialties of the centre include:

  • Care plans
  • Family Medicine

  • Occupational Health
  • Paediatrics
  • Men’s and Women’s Health
  • WorkCover

Contracts are based on 38 – 40 hours per week and you must agree to have some part of your weekly roster participating in the clinics after-hours requirements (see hours above).

  • 60% billings
  • $100 p/hour minimum hourly guarantee for the first 4 months
  • Lump sum payment on commencement ranging from $8,000 to $85,000 depending on length of contract
  • 2 year to 5 year contracts available
  • Friendly and supportive working environment
  • Great induction and orientation provided

To be considered for this position you must have MRCGP and CCT/PMETB or FRACGP/FACRRM or equivalent.

The Location

Tasmania is a truly unique location. Australia’s southernmost state offers clean, white sandy beaches, forests of Huon Pine and massive tree ferns and pristine mountain lakes. Whether it is high culture, the arts and great music you are after or hiking, diving and fishing….Tassie has it all.

With a temperate climate, it doesn’t suffer the wild fluctuations that other regions do. The summer nights are warm and mild and seem to stretch for ever staying light until after 9.30 pm in the summer.

The east coast offers a truly magical lifestyle. A coastal lifestyle with iconic destinations such as Binalong and Wine Glass Bays – perhaps the most recognisable beaches in Australia (well, apart from Bondi perhaps!!!).

What Head Medical can do for you

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we’ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
